Le Petit Paris brings a slice of a French village café to the quiet streets of Opera Estate in Siglap. Chef Félicien Cueff, formerly executive chef at Hilton Singapore and the Tower Club, runs the kitchen with owner Catherine. The ground-floor shophouse has rattan chairs, a pastry counter and a sheltered terrace under a blue awning.
The cooking is French farmhouse food. French onion soup, country pork pâté with pistachio and duck rillettes make good starters. The baked duck confit parmentier and the smoked pork belly, cured, smoked and cooked for twelve hours before searing, are the dishes to order. Breakfast brings brioche eggs Benedict and pastries such as the warm palmier, and the counter holds cakes, madeleines and gelato. Wine-pairing evenings and set dinners appear through the year.
It suits a family weekend breakfast, a relaxed dinner close to home or coffee and cake on the terrace. Prices are modest for the east. Book by phone or WhatsApp, or through Chope. It closes on Tuesdays.
