French Eat Where

About French Eat Where

French Eat Where is a guide to French restaurants in Southeast Asia and beyond: bistros and brasseries, crêperies, wine bistros and Michelin-starred dining rooms in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Bali, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket and Koh Samui.

How we build the guide

We start with the restaurants diners in each city rate most highly, then check every one against its own website, booking pages, menus and recent press before it is listed. A place makes the guide only if French cooking is the core of its menu and it is clearly open now. Each listing gives the price band, style, regional focus, signature dishes, opening hours, halal status and how to book.

Michelin and halal labels

We show a Michelin label only when the restaurant appears in the current guide on guide.michelin.com, and we mark a restaurant halal-certified only when the certification is confirmed. Indonesia has no Michelin Guide, so listings in Bali and Jakarta never carry one.

Keeping it current

Restaurants change chefs, menus and hours often. Every listing shows the date it was last checked. If something has changed, or you run a French restaurant that should be here, use the List your restaurant button or claim your listing.

French Eat Where is part of GoWhere Guides, a family of city and travel guides that also includes Italian Eat Where and Mexican Eat Where.
