Bistro Léa opened in Sri Hartamas in late 2024, set up by chef-owner Lau Ka Hong, previously of Atelier Binchotan, with chef Dimitri Rosli in the kitchen. The corner room on Jalan Sri Hartamas 7 is styled like a small Paris bistro, with a red-and-white tiled floor, green leather banquettes, lace café curtains and a wine bar along one side, and there are terrace tables around a fountain outside.
The cooking sticks to bistro classics. Starters include ratatouille, oeufs meurette in red wine sauce, onion soup and garlic-butter frog legs, and the signature main is boeuf bourguignon made with Wagyu cheek braised for around 12 hours. Veal sweetbreads, canard à l'orange, roast lamb fillet and sea bass follow, with poached pear, crème brûlée and soufflé to finish. Lunch has a shorter menu, and weekends open earlier for brunch.
It suits a relaxed date or dinner with friends, and mains run from about RM70 to RM110. Book through TableApp or by phone, especially for weekend dinners. Open Tuesday to Sunday; closed on Mondays. Sri Hartamas is easiest to reach by Grab.
