Bistro à Table opened in Section 17, Petaling Jaya, in 2011 and is still run by chef-owner Isadora Chai. She calls the cooking adaptive French: classic bistro technique applied to Malaysian and imported produce, with a strong line on knowing where ingredients come from. The room is small and relaxed, hung with vintage French aperitif posters.
The menu changes monthly. The October 2026 carte has French onion soup with Gruyère, pan-seared smoked foie gras with mangosteen, oxtail boeuf bourguignon with polenta and duck breast à l'orange with Puy lentils. Seven-course degustations start at RM188++ and open with the coddled maple syrup egg; a French Colonies menu moves through galette, bánh mì and bouillabaisse. Desserts include crêpe Suzette and a durian crème brûlée tart.
It suits a date or a special dinner, and vegetarian and vegan seven-course menus are offered. Book online or by WhatsApp; lunch is by reservation, with a two-course express lunch at RM77 nett and steak frites on Wednesdays. Meats are halal-sourced and alcohol-free cooking is available on request.
