Chouchou opened in January 2026 on the first floor of J Residence in Wan Chai, a sister venue to Babette in Sheung Wan. The look is Art Nouveau with green velvet and polished brass, and a terrace overlooks the trams on Johnston Road. The cooking is home-style French, served with polish rather than fuss.
The sharing dishes are the reason to come: canard à l'orange, a whole dry-aged duck glazed with orange and spices, and a limited tourte filled with Comté, Parisian ham, pancetta, black truffle and potato. Smaller groups can try tartare de boeuf with cognac sauce, foie gras au torchon with warm brioche, coq au vin or coquillettes au Comté. Finish with tarte Tatin or crème caramel.
It suits a date, a celebration or a client dinner, and the curated wine list helps. The weekday two-course lunch at HK$258 is the easy way in, and there is a weekend brunch plus a private room. Book online through the website; dress is smart casual.
