LPM began as La Petite Maison in Nice and now has branches from London to Dubai. The Hong Kong outpost sits in H Queen's on Stanley Street, a white dining room hung with art, with an open kitchen and a bar. The cooking follows the Côte d'Azur: lemons, olive oil and dishes meant for the middle of the table.
Begin with escargots de Bourgogne, a salade Niçoise or the foie gras terrine, then order the canard à l'orange or the baby chicken with preserved lemon. Larger groups can share a whole grilled turbot or a sea bream with lemon. Leave room for pain perdu 'Cyrus', the French toast that most tables order, or a vanilla crème brûlée.
On weekdays the déjeuner d'affaires is good value for Central: HK$398 for two courses or HK$498 for three. Weekends bring the 'La Vie en Rosé' brunch, and there is a private room for events. Book through SevenRooms. LPM also runs restaurants in London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Doha, Limassol, Mykonos, the Maldives, Miami and Boston.
