Little Paris is one of the most reviewed restaurants in Bang Tao, a dark, ornate brasserie on Boat Avenue with green banquettes, brass lamps and plenty of flowers. It runs from 8.30am to late every day, so the same room serves croissants and tartines in the morning and steak and Champagne at midnight.
The long menu covers the brasserie canon. Start with French oysters, a country pâté, house foie gras terrine or onion soup, or a Lyonnaise or Niçoise salad. Mussels come several ways, from marinière to Dijon mustard. From the meat list, look at the rib-eye entrecôte with Café de Paris butter, pot-au-feu, chicken and morel fricassée or Charolais beef tartare, while the chef's specials include a Normandy-style veal chop, frog legs and roast French pigeon with foie gras. Desserts run to crêpe Suzette, profiteroles, floating island and tarte Tatin.
It works for groups, families and late diners, with a kids' menu plus Thai dishes and pizza for anyone wanting a change. Book online, especially in high season and at weekends.
