Chez Papa opened on Sukhumvit Soi 51 in 2022 as a French épicerie and apéro bar, and has grown into a full bistro with a glass-fronted room, chandeliers, a long bar and private rooms upstairs. Look for the red sign on Soi 51 itself rather than the corner with Soi 49. The idea is the French habit of lingering over wine and small plates before dinner, and it keeps long hours every day.
Plates are designed for sharing. Start with grilled bone marrow on toast, slices of rosette de Lyon and pork rillettes, or a board of French cheese and charcuterie. There are Spanish-leaning bites too, including chorizo croquetas and pinchos, while mains run to ribeye and tenderloin steaks with frites. Tuesdays bring an all-you-can-eat French buffet and Sundays a barbecue platter.
It works well for birthdays, after-work groups and casual dates. Weekday lunch sets cost THB 390 and include a croque monsieur or burger. Book online or by phone, and ask about the private rooms for parties. Delivery is available through LINE MAN.
