Le Bouchon spent decades in Patpong before moving in 2022 to a house with a garden terrace on a quiet Sathorn soi. The new site has a white-tablecloth dining room opening onto the greenery, and dogs are welcome on the terrace. The cooking remains traditional French, with imported produce and seasonal changes.
Start with French onion soup, the duck pâté en croûte with foie gras, or warm Lyon-style sausage with pistachio and potato salad. Burgundy snails and frog legs come in the house butter sauce. For mains, the beef tartare with fries and the beef Wellington with foie gras sauce are the regulars' picks, alongside duck leg confit and quenelles of hake and scallop with Nantua sauce. Finish with Beillevaire cheeses or a flambéed Grand Marnier soufflé, which takes 20 minutes.
It suits a date, a business dinner or a long weekend lunch on the terrace, and handles private functions. Book through Chope; it opens daily from 11.30am with last food orders at 9.45pm.
