L'Escargot Bistro sits on a quiet stretch of Soi Ruamrudee, a short walk from Ploenchit BTS and the embassy quarter. The dining room leans fully into its Paris theme, with painted street-scene murals, wooden bistro chairs, a wall of wine cabinets and white-clothed tables at the back for longer dinners.
The menu is classic bistro fare. Start with a dozen escargots in garlic butter, the cheese soufflé or a gratinéed onion soup, then move on to seared scallops with leeks and beurre blanc, frogs' legs, boeuf bourguignon, duck confit with sautéed potatoes or lamb chops. Steak lovers can choose between a rib-eye with café de Paris butter, a hand-cut tartare and a Chateaubriand for two with béarnaise. Finish with crêpe Suzette or a chocolate gâteau.
It works well for a relaxed business lunch, when a short brunch-style menu of eggs Benedict and omelettes runs alongside the à la carte, and for an easy dinner with friends. Tables can be booked through Chope; private dining is arranged directly with the restaurant.
