About

Pulsii began as a woodfire restaurant and reopened in August 2024 as a French bistro and bar under chef Daisuke Yoshikawa. The Tras Street shophouse has a skylight, a long counter facing the semi-open kitchen and a mix of long tables and two-tops, with the grill doing much of the work.

Small plates come first: duck confit croquettes, chicken liver mousse, uni on seaweed brioche and fromage de tête spring rolls. The truffle soufflé omelette over beef stew is the dish most people photograph. For mains, look at the magret duck breast, grilled Japanese kinmedai or cod, and a rack of Iberico pork. Finish with mille-feuille and vanilla ice cream. French onion gratin soup and a shima aji carpaccio show the French-Japanese balance.

It suits dinner for two or a group sharing plates in Tanjong Pagar. Weekday set lunches start at about S$20, and a limited steak frites lunch runs Monday to Saturday. Book through Chope or by phone; it closes on Sundays.
