The White Label sits on the ground floor of The Sultan on Jalan Sultan, between Kampong Glam and Lavender. It describes its cooking as halal French-Malayan, applying French technique to local spice, and it is Muslim-owned, which makes it a useful address for diners looking for pork-free French classics in the city.
The à la carte menu runs from octopus with curry romesco to a smoky wagyu ribeye entrecôte, risotto aux champignons and crème brûlée. At weekends the room switches to a trolley buffet, with dishes such as wagyu beef bourguignon, forty-garlic chicken, roast leg of lamb, halibut parmentier and scallops au gratin wheeled to the table. Monday and Tuesday evenings bring a free-flow wagyu night with an optional foie gras top-up.
It works well for families, office groups and celebrations. Book the weekend buffet ahead through SevenRooms, as there are two fixed sittings. Group head chef Nelson Chua leads the kitchen, and private rooms are available for larger parties.
