Les Canons is the ilLido Group's take on the neighbourhood Paris bistro, opened at street level in IOI Central Boulevard Towers in the Marina Bay financial district. It runs from breakfast through lunch to after-work drinks, with a mural-lined room and an all-day happy hour aimed squarely at the office crowd.
The short menu keeps to the classics. Start with escargots in garlic butter, frog legs in persillade, steak tartare or cod brandade croquettes, then move on to steak au poivre with fries, duck confit, beef bourguignon made with cheek, or coq au vin, all priced at around S$20. Desserts include mont blanc, chocolate mousse and a thin apple tart. The French wine list runs to more than fifty bottles, mostly under S$100, with several by the glass.
It works for a quick business lunch or a relaxed drink after work. It is walk-in only, so arrive early at lunch, and it closes on Sundays.
