Le Comptoir takes up a corner of Plaza Indonesia's first floor, styled after the old brasseries of Paris: red café tables, bentwood chairs, banquettes and a long bar facing the open kitchen. It runs from morning coffee through to late dinner, with a summer terrace, a salon for pastries, two private rooms and a smoking terrace.
The menu leans French with a few Spanish and Italian detours. Start with the gratinéed onion soup or escargots baked in mushroom caps, then go for a pot of mussels (marinière, provençale or poulette), the bouillabaisse with rouille, steak tartare bruxelloise or steak frites béarnaise. Duck leg confit and duck à l'orange cover the bistro classics, and there is a charcuterie and cheese counter. Finish with crêpes Suzette or an orange soufflé.
It suits a business lunch or an unhurried meal between shops. Pork features on the menu. Book through the website form, by phone or on WhatsApp; the private rooms work for client dinners.
