L'Entrecôte by Bouchon is the Union Group's reworking of Bouchon, its French all-day bistro at Jalan Senopati 79. The room keeps its brasserie look of dark wood, globe lamps, chequerboard floors and long banquettes, but the menu now centres on one thing: steak and fries in the Paris entrecôte tradition.
Order the rib-eye, Black Angus or wagyu in 200g or 400g cuts, which arrives with the house special sauce and free-flow fries. Before it, try escargots in garlic butter with baguette, the croque Bouchon with truffle béchamel, or a creamy prawn bisque under puff pastry. Non-steak mains include sea bass meunière and a cheeseburger au poivre with brandy cream sauce, and there are a few pastas. Desserts run to vanilla flan in croissant pastry, butter and sugar crêpes and an apple galette.
It suits a quick lunch or a relaxed steak dinner with friends, and opens at 10am at weekends. Monthly specials and a wine and drinks list sit alongside the main menu. Book through Chope, where it is still listed as Bouchon; U+Rewards points apply.
