BRIQ Bistro comes from the young team behind BEBOP Bar + Kitchen. It sits behind a bright red door on a quiet street in Petogogan, Kebayoran Baru. Inside are maroon walls, white tablecloths and an open kitchen at the back, which make the compact room feel like a neighbourhood bistro in Paris. Dinner runs until midnight every night, and lunch is served at weekends.
The menu sticks to bistro classics. Start with escargots de Bourgogne, a quiche Florentine or pâté de foie de volaille, or try the lobster bisque finished with Cognac. The mains are the reason to come: coq au vin, canard à l'orange, saumon en croûte and a slow-cooked beef bourguignon. Crème brûlée is the dessert most people order. A short wine list covers the basics.
The small, candlelit room suits date nights and dinners for two, and the reasonable prices make it easy to return. There is live music on some Thursday evenings. Book through Instagram or by phone, and check the weekend lunch hours before you go.
