Alice began as The Langham's afternoon-tea salon and was relaunched in April 2025 as a French bistro under British chef Tom Aikens, with the hotel's French executive chef, Jeremy Jouan, cooking alongside. The room is white columns, arched ceilings, chandeliers and black-and-white marble floors, with a corner bar and an outdoor terrace.
The menu sticks to bistro comfort food done carefully. Look for salmon escalope with sorrel sauce, côte de veau, bavette with frites and maître d'hôtel butter, and sides of gratin dauphinois or haricots verts. Steaks come with béarnaise, mushroom or pepper sauce. A plat du jour such as boeuf bourguignon or coq au vin changes daily, and baba au rhum with Chantilly is the dessert to order.
It works for a business lunch: the weekday two-course Le Déjeuner set is IDR 250,000 per person, and long tables seat up to 10. Afternoon tea runs 2–6pm, and a weekend main-plus-drink deal applies on Saturdays and Sundays. Dress is smart casual; book via SevenRooms or WhatsApp.
