Léon Brasserie comes from the people behind Métis, one of Bali's longest-running French restaurants, and brings a more relaxed brasserie format to Jalan Raya Bumbak in Umalas. The dining room has deep blue banquettes, marble tables and timber blinds, and there is a separate bar that opens half an hour before the kitchen.
The menu follows brasserie lines. Begin with oysters, escargots in garlic butter, French onion soup or the house's pan-seared hot foie gras with apples and port. Mains include beef bourguignon, onglet with shallot sauce, a black pepper tenderloin, duck served two ways and barramundi fricassée. Groups can share an Angus côte de boeuf or a roasted Chateaubriand with fries and béarnaise. Leave room for a Grand Marnier or raspberry soufflé, apple tart tatin or profiteroles.
It suits a date, a dinner with friends or a birthday with a shared steak. Dinner only, daily from 5.30pm. Book online, by phone or by WhatsApp; groups of more than nine should arrange their booking in advance.
