Gooseberry started as one of the first breakfast cafés in Bingin and has grown into a family-owned modern French restaurant with an air-conditioned dining room, a poolside terrace and a small swimwear boutique. Bread, brioche and pastries come from L'Atelier, its in-house pâtisserie run by a French pastry chef.
At dinner, begin with pan-seared foie gras on a shallot tatin, raw scallops with citrus and truffle, or a Savoyard tartiflette. Classic mains include a wagyu bœuf bourguignon, cassoulet with duck confit and Toulouse sausage, and a hand-cut wagyu tartare with fries. The wood-fired grill handles dry-aged entrecôte and wagyu striploin sold by weight, served with peppercorn or red wine sauce. Desserts include Paris-Brest, pomme tatin bretonne and vanilla crème brûlée.
Families are welcome at breakfast and lunch, while evenings are aimed at couples and adults. A three-course French lunch and a French afternoon tea are served by reservation. Book a table through the website or on WhatsApp. Prices are subject to 10% tax and 7% service.
