Racines opened as a small fine-dining room on Upper Station Street under the Pastis group, and holds one star in the 2026 Michelin Guide Hong Kong. The space is calm and light, with green leather banquettes, mustard velvet chairs and tall shopfront windows. Since 2025 the kitchen has been led by Leung Chun-wah, who trained in France and brings Cantonese touches to French cooking.
Dinner is a single tasting menu that changes with the seasons. Recent menus have featured Limousin veal with kaffir lime, cabbage and sweetbread; Scottish razor clams and cockles with bergamot; and the crispy Brittany pigeon that has become a fixture. The house sourdough with smoked butter arrives early, and petits fours come in a vintage biscuit tin.
It suits a special-occasion dinner for two or a long weekend lunch. Lunch runs Thursday to Saturday from about HK$688, and dinner is around HK$1,988 a head. Book via SevenRooms or WhatsApp. Sister restaurants Nissa la Bella and Café Claudel are run by the same group.
